Dear Friends of Outward Bound,

It’s been a challenging time!

It will be no surprise to hear that both the bushfires and COVID19 have significantly impacted Outward Bound.

Please read ‘Reimagining Outward Bound June 2020‘, to share our recent story – embracing the demands of our circumstances and seizing the opportunity for change.  It provides a renewed strategic vision, business model and a road map forward for Outward Bound.

This remains a work in progress.  There is considerable hard work to be done – particularly in relation to building a new leadership team and evolving our programs. We have already made significant progress in regrouping and creating our pathway forward. This has been made possible through the support we have received from the community – including some of our passionate dedicated staff, long standing donors, the ACT and federal governments, and an expanding group of people and organisations who are providing advisory and professional services support.

Excitingly, this weekend sees our return to the bush – with Duke of Ed and Navigator programs to run over the July school holidays.  This is a wonderful milestone – the first steps in a challenging pathway to full operations in a COVID19 restricted environment. If you would like to follow our footsteps a little more closely, please follow us on Facebook.

We are extremely fortunate to have a community who understands the value of Outward Bound, and is willing to contribute to our future.  It is inspiring.  Thank you for your ongoing care and involvement.

Regards

Loren Miller
Chair and Acting CEO
