Outward Bound Australia’s National Base and ACT program delivery area is located in Tharwa, which is nestled at the foothills of the Namadgi National Park, just south of Canberra. The area is known for its distinctive landscape, abundance of wildlife and Aboriginal heritage.
This location is the pick-up and drop-off point for programs in ACT. Travel arrangements can also be made from the Canberra Airport, Canberra Railway Station (Kingston) Civic Pool and Jolimont Bus Depot. Address: Naas Rd, Tharwa ACT 2620.
Outward Bound Australia delivers Victorian programs in Black Range State Forest in the Grampians and the Snowy River National Park, and surrounding private and state forests about 40 minutes from the small town of Buchan. The area is renowned for its river, caves, limestone cliffs and rich history of fossils and bones of creatures found in the mega fauna period.
Participants don’t usually travel directly to this program delivery area. The pick-up and drop-off points are Buchan oval for large schools programs or Bairnsdale Railway Station for most others.
Outward Bound Australia’s base and program delivery area in Western Australia is located on private property about 20 minutes away from the small town of Walpole. The program delivery area also incorporates the magnificent Walpole-Nornalup National Park. Your journey will take you through the famous Southern Forests; it’s an awe-inspiring drive from Perth through this special corner of the world.
Participants don’t usually travel directly to this program delivery area. The pick-up and drop-off point is normally the Walpole Visitor Centre for public programs and directly onto circuit for large school programs.
Outward Bound Australia IS NOT CURRENTLY OPERATING in Northern NSW.
Outward Bound Australia’s former Northern NSW Base and primary program delivery area in Northern NSW/QLD is Nightcap, a 3,000 acre property 15km SW of Uki, less than 1 hour from the Gold Coast and 2 hrs from Brisbane. The property is surrounded by World Heritage National Parks in the Tweed Valley with magnificent views to Wollumbin (Mt Warning), and was formerly the base for Inter-Action Experiential Learning Pty Ltd. All our Open Enrolment programs such as the Navigator, Young Explorer and Family program are run from this location.
This location is the pick-up and drop-off point for programs in Northern NSW/QLD. Travel arrangements can also be made from the Gold Coast Airport and Varsity Lakes Train Station. Address: 3022 Kyogle Rd, Uki, NSW 2484.
Outward Bound Australia’s other former Northern NSW program delivery area was Paddy’s Flat in the upper Clarence Valley. This remote wilderness area encompasses the pristine upper reaches of the Clarence River. The terrain offers short or extended hiking through river valleys and along spectacular ridgelines while the river provides multi day white water canoeing.
This location is the pick-up and drop-off point for programs in this area. Access is via all weather gravel roads from Tabulum, 35km to the SE or Urbanville 36km to the NE. Address: 3413 Paddy’s Flat Road, Tabulum, NSW, 2469
