Yvette Berry and David Smith visit Camp Tharwa

Our sincere thanks to Yvette Berry, ACT Government Deputy Chief Minister and Labor member for Ginninderra, and David Smith MP, Australian Government Labor MP for Bean, for visiting us at Tharwa in April to open the new ropes course elements and look at the new bush kitchen and bushcraft workshops.

Yvette Berry opened the new mid-level high ropes course. This was made possible through the ACT Government’s 2023 Community Sport Facilities Program for diversification of adventure activities.

David Smith highlighted the impact of the Black Summer bushfires on OBA, the process of rebound and our story of renewal and innovation, transforming our National base at Tharwa. The Bushcraft workshops and further program development received grant funding from the Australian Government as part of the Black Summer Bushfire Grants Program.
