Outward Bound Australia is proud to support the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award to all Gold Participants through the delivery of Gold Adventurous Journeys.
The aim of the Adventurous Journey is to stimulate a spirit of adventure and self-discovery while undertaking a journey in a group. The Gold Adventurous Journey is all about getting out in an unfamiliar and challenging environment with an agreed Team Goal. At the heart of the Adventurous Journey is the opportunity to engage in activities that require determination, physical effort, perseverance, problem solving, and cooperation.
Outward Bound Australia will support experience-appropriate coaching and instruction in the skills associated with undertaking an expedition in small groups.
By working as part of a team, Award Participants develop an understanding of group dynamics, enhance leadership skills, improve planning and organisational abilities, and learn how to make real decisions and accept real consequences, both positive and unintended.
