Volunteer

Join our small but mighty team of volunteers and discover a true sense of community.

Volunteer at Tharwa Campus

Volunteering is a great way to stay in contact with the OBA community, give back to others and a way to contribute to the ongoing legacy of Outward Bound Australia. Whether you’re interested in gardening, mechanics, bus driving or filing- we’d love to engage your skill sets!

At our Tharwa base, there’s always something to be done, such as:

Grounds

Caring for the Ngunnawal land we steward, with tasks like gardening, mowing, weeding, and tree planting.

Buildings

Helping maintain our heritage and modern buildings, and equipment.

Logistics

Back up support in the field, such as driving, food and water drops, equipment set/pack up and cleaning.

Online

Working in our archives to digitise historic records and photos.

Equipment

Sorting, cleaning and tinkering in our stores, kitchen and workshops.

Vehicles

Supporting our vehicle operations, helping to maintain and clean a fleet of vehicles and trailers.

Our programs empower young people to step up and embrace new experiences and gain a real sense of achievement. We introduce young people to the wonders of nature, experiencing some of Australia’s most unique and iconic natural landscapes.”
