Campus-based Schools Program

At Tharwa Campus, we make it easy to create unique itineraries tailored to your school’s goals and your students’ needs. Our chill to challenge approach means we can adapt the program to suit you.

We work closely with each school to design the right balance of comfort, growth, and challenge for your year group. Set in the stunning bushland of Tharwa, our programs empower students to connect with nature, each other, and their own potential.

DAY 1

Bush explore
Campfire Chats
Bushcraft skills

Students arrive at Tharwa Campus, set within the breathtaking landscape of Namadgi National Park. After a welcome briefing, they settle into cabins and explore the bush setting. The afternoon invites hands-on bushcraft experiences, such as rope-making and butter-churning, encouraging reconnection with simple, tactile skills.

As evening falls, they gather around a campfire for games, reflections, and a hearty catered dinner, building excitement for the journey ahead. See our Tharwa Campus Menu here.

DAY 2

2km
Individual High Ropes
Navigation and orienteering

Day 2 kicks off with activities designed to foster teamwork and outdoor confidence. Students participate in navigation exercises and initiative games, mastering compass skills and group problem-solving.

In the afternoon, the high ropes course challenges individuals while strengthening peer support, with creative options like cyanotype art creation available for a gentler pace. After a day of achievement, the students head for hot showers and a good nights sleep in the cabins.

DAY 3

6km
Service
Climbing Wall

Students spend the morning giving back to the natural environment, participating in hands-on service activities such as tree planting, habitat restoration, or Waterwatch citizen science projects. These experiences deepen their understanding of local ecosystems and the role they can play in protecting them.

In the afternoon, attention turns skyward as students tackle the campus climbing wall, testing their strength, problem-solving, and determination. The day ends with shared stories and a strong sense of connection — both to the land and to their own growing capabilities.

DAY 4

4km
Teamwork
Giant's Ladder High Ropes

Today is all about partnership, communication, and trust. Students take on the Vertical Play Pen; a high ropes challenge that requires them to work with a partner to ascend a vertical obstacle course including rope ladders, tyre swings and climbing poles. Success depends on clear communication and mutual support, offering powerful lessons in teamwork.

For dinner, they might tuck into a delicious pasta cooked by our chefs, or they might opt to cook their own pizzas on the wood fired pizza oven.

DAY 5

2km
Self reflection
Final Debrief

The final morning centres on personal and group reflection. Students participate in closing discussions and journaling activities, recognising their growth and achievements. A last bushcraft challenge provides a tangible symbol of what they have learned.

After a farewell lunch, students leave Tharwa Campus with new skills, stronger friendships, and a deeper connection to themselves and the natural world.
