It has been my honour to plan and program coordinate two Women of Courage programs this year. Welcoming beautiful and courageous women to Outward Bound Australia and providing them with an opportunity they may have never had before is a privilege. The Women of Courage program provides the women with an opportunity to expand their comfort zones, to envision their best self and to connect and celebrate with women of all backgrounds and ages.

The abseil experience is my favourite part of the program. It is inspiring seeing these women face and overcome their fears and to show their great inner strength. During the abseil these women trust themselves and the support around them and truly believe they can achieve anything with enough belief and the right attitude.

On day one of program the women arrive at Outward Bound already as courageous women, but it’s when they leave truly believing this that I feel so privileged to share the experience with them. I always go home after a Women of Courage program feeling just as inspired and motivated as the women who experienced the journey and it is these moments that I feel the influence of Outward Bound’s mission – “There is more in you than you know, if only you were brought to realise this, you would settle for nothing less” – Kurt Hahn.”
