Outward Bound Australia has been running expedition based programs for youth since 1956. Our Classic School Course has remained a rite of passage for thousands of students each year.
The School course is typically between 7 to 12 days long and based on an experiential model of an extended journey removed from the influences of the modern world as much as possible, the course is designed to challenge and inspire the next generation of community leaders.
Key objectives of the course – in line with our core values – seek to promote and develop Integrity, Responsibility, Resilience, Compassion, Community Service, Environmental Awareness, and tenacity in pursuit of a goal. We believe that this course represents the highest level of professional outdoor education available in Australia and there are several schools that have cemented Outward Bound Australia into their curriculum as a central challenge and a right of passage.
