Outward Bound Australia's administrative departments are based at our National Base, Tharwa. Whilst the operational teams are also based here, they spend a lot of time in our mobile areas throughout the country.

We have around 80 staff of which 75% are made up of our operational structure, this includes three teams of Instructors, Senior Instructors, Team Coordinators and Team Managers. The remaining staff form our administration team and include the Executive, Finance & IT, Business Development, Human Resources, Learning and Development, Logistics and Facilities and Risk Management departments.

Executive

Provides leadership and strategic direction for the growth, development and management of Outward Bound Australia as a whole.

Finance & IT

Responsible for providing financial advice and technological support to Outward Bound, and managing the finance function. 
 

Business Development

Develops, implements and manages the Client Services and Sales functions of Outward Bound to meet the organisation's business goals and objectives.

Human Resources

Develops, implements and manages the Human Resources of Outward Bound Australia to meet the Organisation's goals and objectives.

School

The School is responsible for delivery of the core business and provides the support function of Outward Bound. It consists of the following departments.

Learning and Development

Manages the development and implementation of training and assessment for all staff.

Logistics and Facilities Management

Manages, coordinates and administers the provision of logistical and technical support to Outward Bound Australia's operational and training needs.

Risk Management

Ensure safe, professional and quality programs are delivered across all operational areas in Australia.

Program Design and Delivery

Coordinates and delivers Outward Bound courses, as well as takes a leadeership role in designing programs and developing areas. Made up of three teams, each consisting of a Team Manager, Team Coordinators, Senior Instuctors and Group Instructors.
