Since the first Certificate IV internship program in September 1999 almost 250 outdoor enthusiasts have began their career in outdoor education at the Outward Bound Australia RTO. Outward Bound Australia staff are trained to a high standard and our internship program has been and continues to be a way of growing our own outdoor educators.

In 2008 we will be refreshing the selection process for the program due to commence 1st July 2008. For 10 years we have run an intense multi day selection course at the National Base, in Tharwa, ACT. Whilst this has been an effective way of enabling prospective interns to gain a preview of life at Outward Bound Australia and for us to ensure our interns are a good fit for the organisation, we will no longer be selecting our interns in this way. With the launch of our new and informative website last year we no longer feel it necessary to ask applicants to make their way across the country to attend the selection course.

Instead we will run Information Sessions in the Capital cities of Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth. The sessions will run in the first week of May, further information to be posted on the website in March, and will be a great opportunity for people that have applied, are thinking of applying, or want to find out more about a career with Outward Bound Australia to come along and see what we have to offer!
