Following the milestone of 20 years of operations in Western Australia, we now look ahead to further growth and development in this area of the country. An exciting development is the decision to launch an Internship Program in Western Australia.
Outward Bound is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and is at the forefront of training outdoor leaders and educators in Australia. We have been delivering the Internship program on the east coast since 1999 and intend to commence delivery of a similar program in Western Australia in January 2009.
2 Scholarships are available.
Our aim in launching this program is much the same as it was in 1999, when we became an RTO: To develop talented individuals who wish to build a career with Outward Bound, and within the Outdoor Industry as a whole.
Key attributes of the program include...
It is a Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation, and aims to develop technical and facilitation skills for outdoor leaders. Methods of training include experience based training and competency based assessment.
It will utilise the natural resources that Western Australia has to offer, predominantly moving around South Western Australia.
The format of the program will be based on university terms, allowing students the opportunity to work during the holidays.
Upon completion of the Internship, there will be opportunities for graduates to join the Western Australia team as qualified staff members.
