Rod Pearse, CEO and Managing Director As part of this commitment to the development of their staff, Boral selects between 8-12 middle management staff or employees with potential to be frontline leaders, twice a year, to participate in a high impact leadership program facilitated by Outward Bound. This unique 5.5 day residential style "Outward Bound Leadership Experience" with a splash of wilderness, has been specifically designed to meet Boral's desired outcomes; - To strengthen an individual's capacity, confidence and self-awareness.;
- To develop practical business leadership skills;
- To gain a deeper understanding of the human factors at play in the work environment;
- To actively explore the linkages between the individual, their motives and drives and;
- To explore the effectiveness of teams, and organisational change impacts
The program is fun and challenging on an intellectual, physical, emotional, social and creative level. In addition, it provides a shared experience outside the work environment with colleagues and the opportunity to meet and develop friendships with staff that may work in other parts of the country .
