Internship Selection Process - Australia/NZ Students

We run two intakes of up to fifteen students per year on the East Coast, in January and June. The next course commences in January 2009.

Selection for Australian/NZ Internship is a three stage process.

The Selection Process

Step 1

Download and complete the application form and send it in with a letter of application and a resume. We accept applications all year round and will include suitable candidates as part of our next selection process. The next closing date is Friday 7th November 2008, for a start date in early 2009.

Step 2

Applicants will be invited to an information session/interview in their nearest Capital City.
To be held in mid November.

Step 3

Offers of positions will be made in late November.

The Internship program is based at our National Base, in Tharwa, ACT.

The next internship start early 2009. Applications close 7th November.

Romeo Intern (January 2007)

I am 21 years old from Ballarat, Victoria. I was an Outward Bound participant at high school, and have always been passionate about the outdoors- getting outside for a mountain bike ride, a run or a bushwalk. I came into the internship with no specific outdoor training, so the internship so far has been a full-on experience! Already we are qualified in wilderness first aid, know how to set up and run abseils, rock climbs and ropes courses, have done high ropes rescue and heaps more. We don't get all that many days off, but time flies because of all the cool stuff we are doing.
