Outward Bound is committed to building stronger communities around the country, so that they can support and inspire their young people to discover, develop and achieve their potential. Our approach to community development is grounded in a philosophy of sustainability. In addition to working with young people, we provide support for communities in developing Community Action Groups and processes that will help the community beyond the scope of Outward Bound's involvement. This approach has been successful, with some communities having achieved a level of self-sustainability that now allows them to drive their own projects with less external support.
