Hosted by Outward Bound Australia's Research Consultant James Neil the site is primarily designed to appeal to those interested in learning about how human's learn through experience, particularly experiences of the adventurous kind. This site provides resources about outdoor education and related programs and methods, such as residential camping, experiential education, environmental education, and adventure therapy. The site tries to emphasize international understandings of outdoor education and perspectives from various disciplines and viewpoints. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a voluntary program of youth personal development for young people aged 14 to 25. Participants may seek either a Bronze, Silver or Gold award. There are four components to the award 1.Service 2.Skills 3.Physical Recreation 4.Adventurous Journey Note: to recieve the Gold Award a Residential Project is also required. The Award Programme was first introduced in the United Kingdom in 1956 as The Duke of Edinburgh's Award. The Programme was designed by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh; Dr Kurt Hahn, German educationalist and founder of Outward Bound and the United World Colleges; and Sir John (later Lord) Hunt, the leader of the first team to conquer Mount Everest. |

It aims to encourage and lead the development of professional practice in outdoor education in Queensland. Camp Counselors USA CCUSA was founded in 1985 to give internationals the chance to work in the USA. CCUSA has developed a reputation for providing high quality service to its participants and recruits in over 50 countries for 15 different programs, including work at outdoor summer camps. Outward Bound Australia is keen to hear from previous CCUSA participants that may be interested in either our Internship program or who enjoyed their summer camp experience so much that they would like to do something similar as a full time career.
