The role of the Outdoor Council of Australia is to represent to the community, industries and all levels of government, the views and needs of outdoor educators, leaders and guides as well as organisations that support leadership or are otherwise involved in the training of outdoor educators, leaders and guides via their state and national peak bodies.

International Exchange Programs (IEP) is Australia's largest non-profit working holiday specialist. Spend 8-10 weeks between May and August working, playing and enjoying the American summer while teaching children valuable outdoor activities and skills. Summer Camp USA participants have 30 days to explore the States once camp ends. A summer camp experience is a great advantage when applying for our Internship Program.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a voluntary program of youth personal development for young people aged 14 to 25. Participants may seek either a Bronze, Silver or Gold award. There are four components to the award

2.Skills
3.Physical Recreation
4.Adventurous Journey

Note: to recieve the Gold Award a Residential Project is also required.

The Award Programme was first introduced in the United Kingdom in 1956 as The Duke of Edinburgh's Award. The Programme was designed by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh; Dr Kurt Hahn, German educationalist and founder of Outward Bound and the United World Colleges; and Sir John (later Lord) Hunt, the leader of the first team to conquer Mount Everest.

Forests NSW is a Public Trading Enterprise responsible for sustainably managing more than 2 million hectares of public native forests and an expanding estate of hardwood and softwood planted forests.Forests goal is to manage the forests under its care to provide the widest range of benefits to the present and future generations of people in NSW.

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is the government body responsible for developing and maintaining the parks and reserve system, and conserving natural and cultural heritage, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.

The Role of the Outdoor Recreation Industry Council of NSW, as the state peak body for outdoor recreation, is to represent to the community, industries and levels of government, the views and needs of outdoor recreation and tourism operators, educators and leaders, as well as organisations that support leadership.

The Outdoor Educators Association of Queensland (OEAQ) was established in 1981 to represent the interests of individuals and organisations involved in outdoor education in Queensland. It aims to encourage and lead the development of professional practice in outdoor education in Queensland. By promoting outdoor education as a means of learning and by developing professional practice in outdoor education, the OEAQ will contribute towards developing thoughtful, knowledgeable and skilled professionals who can participate in creating and maintaining just, humane and environmentally sustainable communities.

Camp Counselors USA

CCUSA was founded in 1985 to give internationals the chance to work in the USA. CCUSA has developed a reputation for providing high quality service to its participants and recruits in over 50 countries for 15 different programs, including work at outdoor summer camps. Outward Bound Australia is keen to hear from previous CCUSA participants that may be interested in either our Internship program or who enjoyed their summer camp experience so much that they would like to do something similar as a full time career.
