Mumbulla Foundation is the community foundation of the Bega Valley Shire. It raises money to give grants to local not-for-profit community organisations. In the six years since it was formed, the Foundation has helped local community groups with grants of more than $350,000. It also distributes over $12,000 in vouchers to support needy high school students each year, in cooperation with the Sidney Myer Fund. Its scholarships help students at the Bega campus of Wollongong University.
In 2007, the Foundation will launch a payroll deduction scheme to provide continuing financial support to many local not-for-profit groups. Also it will help fund high school students to participate in Outward Bound adventure and life skills development programs.

 For several years now the Country Education Foundation of Australia (CEFA) has enjoyed a very positive and productive relationship with Outward Bound Australia. CEFA helps rural and remote Australian communities establish local education foundations that raise funds to provide grants to young members of these communities to assist in their pursuit of important life, vocation or further education goals. Young people who would otherwise not have been able to achieve their dream due to the challenges of remoteness and financial need. |
