Staff-in-Training Coordinator
Marcelo is our original Brazilian. He grew up in Sao Paulo and, other than travelling a lot; he was never away from home for more than a year until he came to Outward Bound Australia in 2002. Marcelo has always been a hard worker - working in his family business from the age of 17, as well as going to school and university.
He worked in a management role in the business until he sold it and moved on to study to be a park ranger. Marcelo's first job as a ranger was on one of Brazil's beautiful islands in the south of the country. Here he met a man who, because Marcelo expressed interest in experiential education, recommended Outward Bound to him. |

Group Instructor - Seirra Intake (Jan '06)
Age: 21 From: Goulburn I am from the country town of Goulburn, NSW. I chose to come to Outward Bound Australia to become an Instructor after spending a 'GAP' year at Outward Bound Canada. I was so inspiried by the people and impact Outward Bound Canada has on so many lives. I knew that when I returned it was what I wanted to do.
Already my experience has been so rewarding, exciting and educational. I have made friends for life and gained knowledge in so many different areas. I have surprised myself in my ability to do things every day. |

Romeo Intern (January 2007)
It was time to make a decision after six years at uni culminating in one teaching degree to either become a professional uni student or take the world by storm and join Outward Bound Australia. I decided to hop on the Outward Bound fun bus and applied for the internship to get outdoors and active and away from the doom and gloom of essays and tutorials. The internship has been great fun so far. I've learnt tons of new skills, met some awesome people and been to magnificent areas. |

Romeo Intern (January 2007) I am 21 years old from Ballarat, Victoria. I was an Outward Bound participant at high school, and have always been passionate about the outdoors- getting outside for a mountain bike ride, a run or a bushwalk. I came into the internship with no specific outdoor training, so the internship so far has been a full-on experience! Already we are qualified in wilderness first aid, know how to set up and run abseils, rock climbs and ropes courses, have done high ropes rescue and heaps more. We don't get all that many days off, but time flies because of all the cool stuff we are doing. |
